I came into The Sims 2 rather late; I remember my fond memories playing the original Sims but I lost interest in the game before the build-up to Sims 2. One of the best upgrades from the original is that sims can pass on their traits, grow old, and die. So far, I've played some of the children and teenagers in Pleasantview to adults and some adults to death by old age, but not much further than that.
Anyway, on to the point of this blog: it is, as one might guess, a legacy family story. However, I am not keeping score and I'm using some of my own guidelines.
10 Generations of Fridlops
[inspired by the Group Ugly Concentration Challenge: Ishkabibble http://www.unbeautifulsims.com/index.php?pr=Challenges ]
Starting Sim Traits
Name:Lloyd Fridlop
Personality: Balanced (5 in each)
Neighborhood: New, Custom;no extra districts(college, business, vacation spots etc) except downtown
Aspiration/Turn Ons/Off:Your choice
Goal: Breed 10 Generations starting with Lloyd Fridlop, trying to create the most hideous final result I may not worry so much about this, but rather see how it turns out...
Special Rules:
Only one child from each generation may breed.(though you may choose which one)
Maintain the family name(be careful how you marry)
You may not move out sims and play as them, though you may move out sims to make room
No slowing or stopping of aging
Lloyd Fridlop and subsequent heirs must remain in the same lot
One use of the "motherlode" is allowed to buy or build a large enough house
You may not choose the aspirations of teens; instead, roll a die
1-Fortune
2-Knowledge
3-Family
4-Romance
5-Popularity
6-Pleasure
You may not change aspirations using the aspiration changing machine
Lloyd or the heir may only breed with townies or service npc's(maid, mail-carrier, etc...)
Adoptions don't count for producing an heir
Alien pregnancies and growing plant sims don't count for producing a heir
Try to document the progress of the family with plenty of pictures. At minimum try to get head shots of each breeding pair and the chosen heir.
Finally, here is our sim:
- Name: Lloyd Fridlop
- Aspiration: Family
- Lifetime Want:3 children through college
- Personality
- Neat/Outgoing/Active/Playful/Nice
- 5/5/5/5/5
The choice of recessive traits was deliberate. It'll be interesting to see how they play out. BTW, I only have Sims 2 Double Deluxe and University and I may be getting Freetime from the "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" offer in the new Sims 2 games. Lloyd's Lifetime Want was unfortunate; normally it would be quite doable if time-consuming, but I wanted keep things moving in terms of aging and such.
